Parish Life

st. Thomas Church

“As a newcomer to town and from a non-Episcopalian faith, I was accepted unconditionally.”

The St. Thomas community has many activities and events that bring us together with each other. We really love a party! Whether it is parish dinners held in the Noe building, conversation at coffee hour or the annual Parish Christmas Party, fellowship is the name of the game.

The community Easter Egg Hunt is held on Saturday before Easter on the grounds of the church. Children from the community hunt for eggs (over 700 of them), play games, visit with the Easter Bunny and enjoy sweet treats.

Another important part of our parish life is working together on community outreach and support projects, including the Salvation Army, the Red Cross blood drive, or assisting parishioners and local families in times of need. The personal rewards from these activities are very fulfilling.

We have an ongoing book discussion group that meets weekly from September – May to discuss a book that we have agreed on. Any interested parishioners are welcome at any meeting. Recent discussions have included books by Nadia Bolz-Weber, Sister Joan Chittister, Janice Kaplan and John O’Donohue.  St. Thomas often offers book discussion during the Lenten season in conjunction with the weekly soup suppers. Our book for the 2025 Lenten season is Six Ways to Pray from Six Great Saints by Gloria Hutchinson.

Our members embrace the core values expressed in our mission statement:

St. Thomas Episcopal Church is an active parish family with open arms for all persons who will worship and celebrate with us. We are committed to the enhancement of personal faith, service to those in need, respect for human diversity, thanksgiving for God’s gifts, and growth in living the mission of Christ’s Church.
